It was an unusually warm January night, on the cusp of a full moon, the opening weekend of American Realness Festival and the behemoth APAP presenters conference… a confluence of factors that gave rise to the biggest, wildest PUSSY FAGGOT!s yet. Ironically a week earlier I had a full scale panic attack fearing that this event was going to be my Waterloo, an utter and complete failure. Luckily I have done enough of these events to realize that this type of anxiety is part of my ‘artistic process.’ (Lucky me!) However, my confidence truly rebounded when Lady Miss Kier agreed to DJ. Who better to bring “realness” to this American Realness ed. of PUSSY FAGGOT!? She did not disappoint. From the minute she took the stage to DJ she radiated a fierce fiery warm spirited diva vibe, dancing and singing during her set with charisma that was off the charts. Her voice, full bodied and soulful, and the psychedelic visual backdrop behind her inviting us to gleefully shake our asses down the rabbit hole. Thanks for bringing it, Kier!! Big love to you always and forever.
It took me 30 seconds to agree to DJ and sing again at Pussy Faggot again . It was a packed and incandescent night in nyc! Fav tune I played was by hillbilly Hazil Adkins ( once covered by the Cramps), which should tell you something about how freaky and openminded this quarterly event is.
